I've dragged this out
As long as I can take
I'm guilty of promises
I know that I can't keep
As I drift off back to sleep

So close the door
I'll bang my head against the wall
Bitter and defeated
Brokenhearted plans
To get through anything tonight

The sun goes down, and
Fades into blue and pink shadows
Growing older everyday
I look to let go

Searching for a meaning
With each passing season
Try to take a walk
To gather up my thoughts, but
Every dog on the street seem to hate me

And I'll drive through the hills at night
Looking at the homes, that I
Will never be able to afford
The sub-suburban fantasy
It's ruling me
Sometimes I want the palm trees
To lean so far that they break
And crush me
