Scared

There's a hole in the fence in the back of my yard
I like to sneak out but I never go far.
All kinds of things hanging out in the trees
and I don't like the way they're looking at me.

I get Scared at creepy things
bats that bite, bugs that sting.
I get Scared and I don't know why
but I'll get over it by and by and

by the stairs there's a door to a tiny room
it's just a closet but I swear the broom moved.
I hear noises in the middle of the night
sounds like it's coming from somewhere inside.

I Get Scared and I wanna run
I Get Scared and it's no fun.
The world can be a spooky place
but if you hold my hand, I'll be okay

Oooo, when I think of it I've got nothing to be afraid of...
got everything I need, and mommy and daddy's love.
monsters, goblins and ghosts and noises in the night
are all just in my mind, and I know it'll be alright....

Lookin out my window at the darkening sky
I'm turnin on lights while my kitty cat hides.
The lightening and the thunder and the wind and the rain
my brother thinks it's cool but I'm really not entertained.

I Get Scared and I can't explain
why I shake like a house in a hurricane
I Get Scared so please stay near
and I won't be so full of fear
