Heaven Awaits

There is a sign,
painted up above the stars for me
When I read the words,
I know what is and what will be

Nothing else remains before me now
Mine is not to reason why,
if for my brothers I must die

Heaven awaits me on this night

So I must now lay down my life

And on this day we must make a stand
in our Lord's sight
In spite of empty threats from those
who once stood by our side

We will cast our bread upon the waters
Yours is not to block our way
Stand aside while justice has a say
