Getting Better

Wish I knew it from the start
Your worn out words do play some part
In healing the corners of my fragile soul
And mending pieces of my broken heart
Feeling empty every day
But seeing colours in the darkest greys
Wishing time hadn't been so cruel to me
But I'm happier than I should be

I may be broken but I'm getting better
Wounds will heal but scars last forever
So if I die at 27
I hope my friends all go to heaven

In a library of pain
Turning pages in my brain
Searching for answers finding strength in fear
In this chapter I've written all year
In the echoes of my mistakes
I found the courage to remake
A life worth living and a heart that's whole
Locked in the chamber within my soul

I'm not giving up, I'll find my way
Through the night before each day
Even if we don't make it through
I'll be in peace because of you
