Tempation After Tempation

I feel that God is testing’ me
There ain’t much that’s left of me
One temptation after another
Sometimes I wonder why bother
Why bother

A lifetime of reaching lows
Just a skull underneath the crow
Suffocating, sinking slow
Temptations lead me to the end of the road

Standing at the crossroads
Time has come for me
Where this path will now go
Only I can see

I feel that they keep testing’ me
But they won’t get the best of me
One temptation after another
Reason enough for me to go harder

A lifetime of reaching lows
Swimming with pockets full of stones
Dragging me down, I’m sinking slow
Temptations taught me to rise above
