One For The Ozarks

We walked until the sun came up
We talked these lessons of life in a late night restaurant
These people know my name, and I don't care
Call me up at three am, and I'll meet you there
I'm lost without you here I swear

And these late nights where we sleep under the stars
We'll hang out under the overpass
I can barely hear the cars
I'm surprised that we've made it this far

And they say it's hard to change
But it isn't so bad in desperate days
But sometimes it got so hard
I couldn't look you in the face
And I've tried everything that everyone's tried
I've abused myself to the point where I can't hide
And I've lost some sleep on a long, dark night
And I've woken up, called you, and felt alright
It's just what we do to get by

We walked until the sun came up
We thought about our favorite songs
And whether they were long enough
But I don't think that songs need to be more than thirty seconds long
