The Fermi Hart Paradox

Billions of stars in the Milky Way
Older than us and so far away
Habitable planets that we can’t contact
We send radio waves hoping someone to answer back.

Searching the sky, a signal was received
So strong that scientists couldn’t believe
One radio signal that no one could explain
Yet, decades have passed and the silence remains

A paradox
Unsolved
Like a secret in a box
We face the unknown

Where are all the intelligent lives?
Already here, but they know how to hide?
Or maybe we are too primal to listen
And like always overestimate our cognition

They may have come here a long time ago
When human beings still didn't show
Or maybe we live too far away
Like in a periphery of the milky-way

Like a safe that is locked
Its secret is unknown

The stars we see on a pretty night
Are not even close of all galaxy’s lights.
We’re a speck of dust among Sahara
A few seconds inside an era

Countless stars and systems like ours
Life probability has so much power
Many planets with twice our age
We couldn't guess their evolution stage

Still unsolved
Like a safe that is locked
Its secret is unknown

Skepticism of some homo sapiens
Doubting the existence of the aliens
Putting the human on a pedestal
Egocentrism above all

They think the Earth is the chosen one
And only us have one big sun
The mediocrity principle tells otherwise
We are not the galaxy prioritized
