First Love

On valentine's day we saw 50 first dates
Man... we used to hang out all the time
What ever happened to that?
What ever happened?

Well... I guess eighth grade really wasn't
The time to be having such
Serious relationships
Man... I should of known

But now, every time I
See you, I think of then and
I wonder what things might have been like
Hadn't I gone and broke of this
Relationship with you
Would we still be together?
Hmm... well... probably not
But anyway

After two days your friends could not believe it was true

It all seemed so magical

I even remember our first kiss
Met at the flagpole
To administer one peck on the lips
Couldn't have been much more of a dork

As it turns out
Middle school just isn't the time
To be making plans

I guess I found that out the hard way didn't I

So when we broke up
I'll admit
It was the right time
9 monts was quite the long run
And now I'd say that were pretty good friends
I'm glad that our friendship didn't come to an end
