We Burn

Yesterday
The men in black came to take them
Away from their homes and friends
They were told
Their thoughts and words were too bold
And they'd never be heard from again
As the days pass us by there can be no more doubt
They clearly intend to wipe all of us out
And ensure that the cause in which we all believe
Is sent to the grave yard of their history

Though it may seem too much for us to take
And though our hearts are so filled with pain
We must not ever bend, or bow, or break
And our conviction will light us our way

It's a time of hate and fear
Full of misery and pain
But I look into your eyes my friend
And I know it's not in vain
For amidst insanity
We must cling to our humanity
For all of our brothers
And all of the others
We will never falter
With righteous flame we burn

Long ago
In times of darkness and woe
When a man would defy their decree
They would take
The renegade to the stake
And would burn him for all to see
Now they burn us with slander and burn us with lies
To make sure people are mute to our cries
But the burning that drives us is deep in our hearts
And no desperate tyrant will tear us apart

Standing tall unbeatable
And indefatigable
Our survival might not be
So unbelievable
