Time eternal
Bound by this are we
A lifelong chain it is
Never are we free

A bed of dust awaits
Chronos’ blade cuts deep
Through every mortal heart
To bring eternal sleep

But every thousand years
A male child comes to be
A mere mortal being
Who won’t bend his knee
(Before the God of Time)

Once his Sun set
Another took to power
A scarred face and soul
Herald to the dark tower

Few are such men
Who walk the halls of time
Shaping fates of others
Shaping yours and mine

Dark is his heart
Bred in mortal womb
With power to stop time
And delay the tomb

But how to snare a shadow
And place it under lock
How to cage a man
Not afraid of the ticking clock?
