Losing Sight

Losing sight of an identity
I used to be a person, I used to believe
I’ve erased every last fingerprint
And now I am nothing
Sometimes that figure returns, but a shadow in a dark room
Every time I feel it there I turn to witness a void
We tend to forget where we have come from
Numb from the weather, lying cold in the sun
Sometimes I wonder who we were supposed to be
My answer yet to be found but I will stop at nothing

I will find you, that which I have lost
I will find myself, and never let go

Though I have wasted, I will remember you always
Taken for granted
Paradise stolen away
Raped of sanity
Angry at the world
Wronged by none but myself
I will pick up the pieces
I’ll never let go
