A Punch To The Face

maybe i should spend this october clean and sober.
because it might just be my favorite month.
and the air alone might just get me high enough.
with a cool breeze that freezes thoughts, and leaves, almost whispering forget-me-nots.
battles fought and won and we always seem to sing songs about truths of another life.
and about moments from other nights similar to these. "it takes you back doesn't it?"
i guess i'm just a man of reflection.
a man who has a hard time digesting the notion that these days are fleeting.
but at least i'm passed the days of beating my fist agains the ground and screaming to a God who can't hear me.
