God do I miss the summers where I
Would hang in the back of the pool club
Chasing fireflies and dreaming up a life beyond the school bus
That must have been what love was
God, what happened to all of us
Jaded and frustrated with the world around us

Well that was 2022
Everybody else was stuck in the news
Yeah it's hard to be in the moment
When you feel like your walls are crumbling
So take a toast to you

Well here we go again, another year of history repeating itself like a wolf in sheep clothing
This time it's affecting our youth more than ever
Well here I say to you my friend
Fuck the narrative

September came around again
The leaves turned to green to brown and then
The snow comes by and rain falls at the window
On that day with the rain
I built a fort and played my games
It was over as quickly as it started
Why am I blessed with this curse
To work towards a future with high hopes
I should be right here in the moment
Before the curtains close

Long live the beach days that we spent
All the lake nights that'll last till the end
It isn't over, Is it starting again
A future where we live in the moment
Where we aren't consumed with
The phones, the drama, the socials, false karma, it's all adding it up and making it's sick
Is it over?
