Mind Effigies

Listen to my words, for they're made of fire
I hearken to a call from beyond
Whispers soaring through space and time
From aeons of chaos, into a labyrinth of doubt
To foresee the fall of empires, to understand the shame
Of a mind cast out of balance, a victim of foul play?

Neurons frozen, or so it seems
Misdirected, I lay my plead
Seeking guidance from madness, I'll cling to this
Misconnected, mind effigies

I am the sullied interior; I am the ghost in black
Calling all war fronts to the siege within
Cortex spilling, crimson seeding
Man-made holocaust
Mind-deceiving, soul-retreating
Folly without cause

Suddenly, there is silence in the sea of rumors
No sound nor sight beyond matter, all sat in stupor
And all the gifts I've known, lobotomized
Withered out, torn apart, crystallized

Neurons frozen, or so it seems
Misdirected, I lay my plead

Misconnected, mind effigies

(I stand so) overwhelmed

Requiem of the insane, feasting on life
Hath all my wisdom left me blind?
Far from the reaches of brain
The healing must come once again
Powers that be all end the same
