I don't wanna lose nothing that I can't get back
It's not as though I catalog a list of everything I ever had

I guess I mean my little black cat
Sitting in the middle of the diamond padded mat
I mean a sense of being home
As it is I really like being alone
I miss the world sometimes, but not as bad

I wanna hear you're doing well
But all they say is you put your mother through hell
And though we were just kids
I never thought you'd cut me the way you did

I know it happens every day
That never seems to make the stinging feel okay
It's written in the book of common pain
You read it too and felt exactly the same

It is pedestrian at best, but I'm still upset

No one ever said that it would be easy
Everybody gonna have to fall to pieces
I can't wait to see how you put it together
It is gonna fit a little better, believe me
Even if it don't, we'll just set it free

It got so quiet in my house
Every thought hit me just a little too loud
And though I tried to write it down
If I'm honest I don't know how
My friend told me you gotta play it cool
And it just hit me that I think that it is true
Just 'cause it happens in my brain
Well, that don't mean that someone else would feel the same

It's so hard to accept, but it's for the best
So I will take this quest and try my hardest
