Empty Playgrounds

I sit across from a playground,
I visit it today with a small child
I know such places where children play.
But sadly there's none of them here today

Empty playgrounds all around,
Playful children not to be found
Heal me of this broken heart,
Lord give me brand new start,
And help me to do my part for them.

Angels I pray will protect them,
Carry them home as You let them
Run freely with joy, secure and safe.
With no memory of this hurting place.
