Engines roar with diesel fumes as they attack the trees
Destroyed in minutes, ruining the growth of centuries
Making pastures for their cattle, mince meat on legs
Concious-less murder, bring the earth to its knees
Don't they realise that we need air to breathe?
Food to eat & fresh water to drink
She will have her revenge when we suffocate
And the stagnant pools poison those who quench their thirst

Raping and taking all she has to offer
Making barren what once was fertile

Strip-mining lays to waste fertile farm land
We reap what we sow, go ahead eat a Kruger Rand
Is the ore you grind by the ton into sand?
Rich enough to make the effort worthwhile
Cyanide dumps make molehills out of mountains
Poisoning streams, destroying spring fountains
Tremors are felt throughout the reef

What do we do now that she has no more to give?
