Playhouse on the Dock

Mamma's red dress was for special occasions
When she'd take me to the playhouse on the dock
She'd say keep your eyes on the hypnotic horizon you don't want to miss the magic
It felt good to get lost in it

Time passed much too fast, one hour became a few
But this world around me, what an

I was kissed by the sunset where fairies would undress the sky
Fish turned to crystal, wind whistled blossoms by my eye

And then I'd wait for her to return to me

There's nothing quite special of home
So I'd long for these moments on my own
A colorful place to enjoy my escape and pretend all the heartache away
Left wondering why she left me alone

One day looking away, a man never seen before
He said the playhouse was for grownups, abandoned on
Abandoned on one side of the door

Mamma's long gone though I realize why we came here
Men would come just to see red behind locks
