Painfully aware honesty hurts
what worked before no longer works
new strains appear day after day
resisting the old cures at increasing rates

memories fading away
black aggravation giving birth this way
sick of dilution tired of politics
experimental drug with unknown sideeffects
hold on to the past for dear life
decaying relic of a simpler time
outdated methods rendered obsolete
the tried and the true cannot compete
self amputation escape from the trap
cut loose I am forced to change and adapt
chemical baptism through this I am reborn
