I fell down the drainpipe and slept in the pool
And I woke with some sunlight kicking in like a mule
All the vicars and scholars were all done with their chores
When I finally was able to stand on all fours
I went off to the place where the floor met my eyes
And I met with the people's adventures and lies
About storms, about pressure, about windows and wine
I could laugh but the funniest story is mine

Now the drinks are abound and the evening is set
I've been here before and I think I'll regret

These great minds think alike but the lesser do too
I used to think harder but now look at this crew
We beg and we borrow to make these ends meet
I'm lost in my pint, in my mind, in this street
