Sirens

We found a way to improve our sense of loss
And it’s far from what we want
It’s been a while since we first found each other
Though now we’ve been apart
We’ve been around as if running in circles
Just anyone can tell
We’ve thrown away what we raised together
Though now I want it all

I’m living on my own
And I can’t sleep
I hear the sirens through the wall
And keep wondering
If the music that they chant is sang
