And while you stand and
Watch mays flowers
I have seen aprils showers
Come and wash all
Of junes blood away

Your eyes cloud
Your finger trembles
On the trigger of your shotgun
Like a firebrand in august

Turning back you see
At last
Januarys torrid past
And octobers son sets
At noon

Decembers thaw
Thaws something in you

See it in you?
Power to control novembers reign

Though your souls

Julys shadow
And gun in hand
You march off to the wilderness

And through septembers
Early leaves we can
See you through the trees

And in that lonely shotgun blast
