Unprovoked assassination
A life taken
Wasted on depraved indulgence
Arbitrary violation of those innocent
So truly undeserving to be

An obsession with power and fear
Repulsive indifference to life

An elegy shall be performed for those despoiled of totality
We must denounce the hubris of this savage vanity

How could so many be slain?
Scared and alone, suffering in pain
Paying the ultimate price to satisfy unspeakable vice
They had every right to survive
To fulfill the life of which they were deprived

Those who have suffered in vain
May we never forget their names
Those whose lives that were lost
Those who could never have thought that they had been
