Long before I was born
In a city, I don't recall
They took a blanket
And put it over my head
And I forgot where I was
And I forgot who I was

I spoke to my family
The very next day
They called me another name
And I walked down Main Street

Suddenly yesterday
I read in the newspaper
"Annisette shot down
Before her home last night"
And suddenly today
I received a letter
