Fading Away

I'm drifting in a sea where all is cast away
Where memories like grains of sand decay
My name begins to fade, my voice grows still
A ghost with neither life nor strength of will

In a silence that refuses to depart
Your absence weighs like lead upon my heart
A hollow space that no one else can fill
A wound that stays open, aching still

I am disappearing along with you
With every memory, a part of me goes too
My heart is draining dry, my soul undone
Left with only pain, now that we are none

My purpose is dissolved, my future out of sight
I know not who I am, lost within the night
And time flows on, yet leaves behind no trace
I seek your voice in every hollow space

I search for answers that I cannot find
