Cold winter day ten degrees I'm on my way
To school with my hand on that door knob
Almost got away thought I was cool but here comes mom

I threw away that hat and scarf down the street in someone's yard

On my way home that day blowing snow is in my face

I missed that hat and that ole scarf and really missed my mother's arms

Finally made it to my steps told the dog I'm froze to death
I kinda fell inside the kitchen door
Mamma waiting there for me I hugged her till she couldn't breathe
