Oh all-powerful lord, you are there, where no one exists
othai tayree rakh aganee udar maa-eh
You protected us there, in the fire of the womb
sun kai jam kay doot naa-i tayrai chhad jaa-eh
Hearing your name, even the messenger of death runs away

bhaujal bikham asagaaho gur shabadee paar paa-eh
The terrifying and dreadful world-ocean is crossed over
through the word of the guru’s shabad (sound current)

jin kau lagee pi-aas amrit say-i khaa-eh
those who thirst for you, partake of your amrosial nectar
kal meh ayho pun gun govind gaa-eh
this is the most virtuous deed in this dark age of kali yuga
to sing the glorious praises of god

sabasai no kirpaal samaalay saa-eh saa-eh
he is merciful to all, he cares for everyone, each and every moment
birthaa ko-i na jaa-i ji aavai tudh aa-eh
no one who comes to you is turned away empty handed
