Beyond The Shores

Before the seas I stand — recalling thought of old
Drenched int he breaking waves
Upon these shores of cold, of cold

Thru the mist the silhouette of charon emerges
His hand outstretched to take this — my meager penance
Transport this shell of death to the netherworlds beyond
Brought home to serve now that my earthly time is done

Freed from the skin that once
Entrapped my spiritual being
My time has come

Thru the glowing lands which bear the tree and fruit forbidden
Pleasures to man which for his sake shall now remain hidden
Beyond the mountains and across far reaching seas
I shall seek the ones who've made this journey long before me

My time is done, here for me
