Unfulfilled Prophecy

Before you now I gaze upon the gods
To see what lies ahead for you, my lord
The sights I see bring pleasures to my eyes
Your rule will leave its mark upon mankind
The night does fall and with darkness it does bring
A curse of death to claim our noble king

Who has been before our king in his last hours?
Bring them into the courtyard
Into the courtyard to be tried
For their crimes against our state
The guiding hands of death shall await
For he who spilled the blood

We have all been summoned here today
To stand before the accused
To judge upon him his fate
As set forth by the gods
And sentenced him by the laws
Created to blind us through our journeys
The truth’s before us and the final judgement
Now awaits

Led down the path
Towards the platform made of stone
What thoughts pass through the mind of the guilty
As he is taken to his final destination
We shall rejoice as this betrayer is given
His just and due punishment
And as the Sun dies down, so shall my soul
And as it follows, follows the Moon
Into its evening throne

The knife now finds its home
As the soul escapes the flesh
The act is avenged
He who took this life is no more!

Judgement handed down by the gods
Showing no favor
My life’s next in line
As the sights before my eyes
Have not been fair and true
The prophecy remains unfulfilled!
