Downfall

At last everything's clear now
I have never had control of my life
All along we kept repeating we were free to choose
But where is the freedom if you have no freedom not to choose?

Only now I realize it

Afraid of being at the helm
Of my existence, at the mercy of the winds

I cannot bear it anymore
But I'm out of time

Way before you realize it, everything has been set
Even though you reject it
In a world that forgot us in the deep
With no ray of hope, one behind the other
Heading to the downfall

What can I do this time, now that all
The pieces are gathered and I see the full picture?
Like a sinner I fall on my knees
Please God, hear my words and choose the penance for me
I won't answer back

Arrived at the crossroads, the choices are just two
To live in regrets or die to make amends?
