Hand Over Fist

Not long ago I was full of anger.
And you really pissed me off and I lashed out.
But now I know violence is not the answer.
It never was and it never will be.
Now I know what it is all about when the chips are down.
And there's still some time for us to reach a common ground.
Cause I'm sick of all the dying.
I'm sick of all the crying.
There's gotta be a better way.
Just look around at our society.
It's survival of the fittest on the street.
Can't you see violence is not the answer.
It never was, and it never will be.
Can't you see what it's all about when the chips are down.
There's still some time for us to reach a common ground.
We gotta stop the violence.
Before it's too late.
Cause if we don't care.
And you don't care.
And they don't care.
Who's gonna care.
