Lake Side

I take my shirt off in front of others
I slouch it by my former lover
It's the first time in a while

Peanut butter and some bread with water
Dripping down my glasses
I am lakeside until we drive

Then somehow we get pulled over
We drive along and I smell
Honeysuckle floating through the air

This is the scent of when I was
Young and played outside and thought I
Was alone

Speechless in the car I tell myself
Not of think about the pointlessness of it all

I have a job, I have some friends and each week
