The Edge

Sometimes I'm walking on the edge
One false move and I'm falling down
But I can't find a reason not to jump and try to fly
Sometimes I cannot find my way
I don't know if I'm right or wrong
I'm hiding in deep frustration
I close my eyes and wish to die

Each word that is spoken, each promise that is broken
Is leading me straight to the edge
I can't close my eyes, I can't really hide
I have to meet my fate
Within I see the eternal wheel of life rolls on and on
The promised land is so closed at hand but I have to know

This is the edge - of life
I must find the key to set myself free
And release all my hidden fears
The mirror of life, the allseeing eye is pointing now at me
This is the edge - of lies
I'm kissing the edge

Feelings which are guiding our lifes
Are many times betrayed
We don't want to see how blank we are
Nobody cares where we're going
Our society has lost it's way

Resistance is hopeless, most people are boneless
They just take care of themselves
They will always be part of the machine
But they will never know it's aim
