Shoebox

On the top shelf of the closet
Beneath a blanket of dust
I found my old, faded shoebox
Filled with memories of us
It was just out of reach
Like it was tryin' to hide
I carefully pulled it down
And took a peek inside

There were folded up notes
That you'd slip me during class
I had such a crush on you
It's a miracle I passed
This photo strip from the mall
Your silly smile, my sideways grin
Swore I'd never forget that day
