New Year's Resolution

It was already new year's eve again
And we were living other people's lives
Leting days go by
We were cold and disconnected
We were helplessly
Watching everything from the outside
And when we tried to change the channel
None of the buttons worked
And every passing minute was another reminder
Of just how much we could hurt

Freezing on the rooftop
Of our building bathed in
Rich purple after midnight sky
We wasted the first few hours
Of a brand new year
Wishing we could fly

We tapped on the glass and laughed to ourselves
Thinking how much have we let just pass us by?

We made our resolution for our brand new year:
