I know it's hard for you too see
And it may seem like things are fine for me right now
But you've got to understand
It's not just hard for you that I can't hold your hand
Trying not to stay too long
Making and breaking all these friendships
But trying hard not to be too selfish
And thinking about you all alone
Don't you think I wish I could be back at home with you?

I'm trying so hard to be the things
That I know you need from me
But I never want to hold you back
From all the things that life can bring
Don't wear my heart upon my sleeve
Don't want to be figured out too easily
