War Memorial

I used to cycle past the stone soldier
Standing his guard in all kinds of weather
Serving his time to remember
War dead
With dignity, honour and respect

And when they talk of death or glory
Death always drives the car
Fear isn't very far behind

I used to walk all the way to parliament
Drunk on a Monday night and home movies of Burma
I spend all my time trying to remember
