This Time

In our pasts there are those things that we never wish we did
And some can't seem to let it go
It wasn't my fault, it wasn't my way, what else can I say?
The excuses begin to flow
It's time to get up and show what you have learned
And take every ounce of pain, and make it worth it
Don't let it beat you, the past is behind you
And this time, your time is now
I closed my eyes to the problems, pretended as if they were not there
To get me through the day
And I thought that things would change
Just change all on their own, but it doesn't work that way
The fear that ripped inside, it broke me down to the core
I'm not the same as when I was younger and I swear that
This time, this time I won't fall
It has been so long since I said I was wrong
And now it's gone, please tell me what happened
So what I messed up just like everybody else does
And it's ok because I have learned from, from the cut
I've learned from my mistakes and every heart-ache
To keep on living each day like it was my last
Here it is again, it rises again, and I swear that this time
