Journal Entry

The sun came up in Memphis today.
I was driving, the only one awake.
I havent slept enough cause last night was pretty rough.
We broke down in Oklahoma and slept in some no name town.

This is the biggest sky I've ever seen
under a blanket of stars.
Are you thinking of me tonight, sweetheart ?

We drove today on the longest road I've ever seen.
Just shy of sixteen hours from Abilene.
The mountains loomed so high I could barely see the sky,
but in the dark I could see the milk of the Milky Way.
It's still a 1000 miles to Phoenix and I hope we get there on time,
but we've still got a lot of driving to do today.

Everyone is sleeping and I am all alone.
I'm looking out the window, thinking about the road.
