Lily (Floriana)

She lived in South, I lived in North Philly
Her name means “flower”: she is the LORD’s Lily
She’s everything in a woman I could ever desire
But that’s a small thing compared to Yahweh’s treasure inside her
Like, Not just beautiful features but unusual meekness
With His Image in you I see the Beauty of Jesus
My name you shared as “Brindle,” I was appearing gentle
You said “I do”, no idea what you was getting into
We brought our baggage in, our back packs of sin
Dumped them on the table, wondered if they’d ever have an end
He gave me you in marriage, then pretty soon we’re parents
I nearly ruined our Union, “whose able to repair this?”
I almost lost you/ it was my fault to
The pain it cost you/ I been so hostile
I almost lost you/ but what did God do?
To restore us, the LORD just showed us His GOSPEL!!!

But He wouldn’t let me or you or anyone tear us apart
Cuz it’s His marriage, isn’t that what He declared at the start (Mark 10:9)
You didn’t proceed to just leave me, regardless how people see me
For His mercy, you said we, are both equally needy
So we proclaim this aloud:
If you’ve felt pain from your spouse
YOU’RE as depraved and defiled
But His Grace—It Abounds!
And His grace is Enough! Judgment’s taken for us!
‘Cuz on the Cross, Jesus was forsaken and crushed!
When your soul beholds these riches
His great grace for you becomes your soul’s fuel for forgiveness
So, Floriana and I, of course declaring this:
