One Last Dance

I knew an old man once
He told me "don't you dance"
And if i ever did
He'd told me, i'd die
A week or so did pass
I found this pretty lass
She asked me "won't you dance?"
I would but, i'd die

And i stopped and wondered, did she really mean what she said?
Such a pretty girl alone every night in her bed?
All my life these feet have been glued to the floor
