G Doo do do doo do do doo do oooh woooC G One time I spent a week inside a little county jailC G And I don't guess I'll ever live it downC G I was sitting at a red light when these two men came and got meC D7 And said that I was speeding through their townG C G Well they said tomorrow morning you can see the judge then goC G They let me call one person on the phoneC G I thought I'd be there overnight so I just called my bossC D7 To tell him I'd be off but not for longG C G They motioned me inside a cell with seven other guysC G And one little barred up window in the rearC G My cell mate said if they had let me bring some money inC D7 We ought to send the jailer for some beerContinúa después del anuncioG C G Well I had to pay him double cause he was the man in chargeC G And the jailer's job was not the best in townC G Later on his wife brought hot baloney eggs and gravyC D7 The first day I was there I turned it downG C G Next morning they just let us sleep but I was up real earlyC G Wondering when I'd get my releaseC G Later on we got more hot baloney eggs n' gravyC D7 By now I wasn't quite so hard to pleaseG C G Two days later when I thought that I had been forgottenC G The sheriff came in chewing on a strawC G He said where is the guy who thinks that this is IndianapolisC D7 I'd like to talk to him about the lawG C G Well I told him who I was and told him I was working steadyC G And I really should be getting on my wayC G That part about me being who I was did not impress himC D7 He said the judge would be here any dayG C G The jailer had a wife and let me tell ya she was awfulC G But she brought that hot baloney every dayC G And after seven days she got to looking so much betterC D7 I asked her if she'd like to run awayG C G Next morning that ole judge took every nickel that I hadC G And he said son let this teach you not to raceC G The jailer's wife was smiling from the window as I leftC D7 In thirty minutes I was outta stateG Doo do do doo do do doo do doo dooo
