Beyond The Mazes

I wake to the sound of screaming witches
Search for the light
Of the child who withered one night

Our sister's soul is here
We feel her power
You were given her light for your life

Granting you her flame
From the everdream
Ignite your destiny

We know your story well
By spirit and mystery
Our sister the sorceress guides our way
She was our queen

She chose to believe in you
A candle in the growing darkness
We know not the purpose you keep
It's not for us to see

The painted lover
A bard without his eyes
Never found their way out
Just follow the sound of our shout

Led through a hall to a casket on a wall of ivory
I feel a chill again, testing my will yet one more time
Move my hand to pull the crown
Inside I see a truth
A vision of hope tomorrow

Stepping through the door
A road of bones in view
One step closer to an ending
There's a boundary to the north
My guides cannot ignore
The coven of old will go no more

I run like never before
It's all on me
I leave this wicked hall
And turn to walk away

Toward the land of mazes high
In the drifts where creatures lie

A blightful blizzard
Tries to slow me down
Wipe away my eyes
Labyrinth entries abound

Voices whisper in this maze of ice and ground
Telling of a dream again
Of ages lost in time
A time we once remembered
In the stories now untold
They cling to life in the everdream
Now on fire

Everything the same around me
Even up above
Tell me 'bout the dream again
Maybe the words will push me towards you
Starting to distrust what's natural
Maybe there's no end
Maybe it's the dream I see again
The voices are calling me, for I am the Messenger

What are these voices
I am not alone
I hear the call of everyone
The Messengers

And once again I'm on fire, these voices on the wind
Spirit aflame as they sing again
The passageways appear like harmonies

I'm finally out
Beyond the mazes
Will I pass the monsters below
Without seeing their faces

Over these frozen
Crystal hills
I am alive

I am on fire, a dream coming true
Moving much higher, I'll be there soon

A nameless receiver, there's a message for you
Will I find you in the end

Cresting a dune of snow with more miles to go
What do I see, something dark in the distance before me
The greatest sight I've ever seen in my questful life
A mountain unreal, hiding skies beyond where the gods kneel

All existence is compromised
A clash for freedom in its shadow
Look for avenues, lanes, or lines
Any place to move

High on a spire, pieces of light come through
Shine through
High on the spire, I see a spark of truth
