Messenger's Quest

Time, precious time
A pilgrimage defined
A message sealed in gold
Destined for the one who knows the king

Eluding light among the shadows all around
A secret messenger, a herald for the crown
I leave this town

Looking back at the lives in need of rescue
Then forward to the sea
The vast expanse
Run the gauntlet to the harbor
Slip a hand of pence to the shady Jack-tar
We're headed into the night
And with the wind
May Poseidon's Fool reach land by light

Guard these words I bear
Guide my way for the Majesty

One long night behind me
Across the ocean

Morning's new light, shows me roads less traveled
And to the mythical Bridge of the Blind, obsidian lines
A mirror for the sky, to watch its own eyes

Wonder of old, wonder of ages
Give me some time, grant me your favor now
I shall serve you well somehow

One foot forward and let it fall
Reflections everywhere, no sight at all

My eyes burning deep, but I must go on

Time and luck gets me to a place
Farther from my home, my home
Follow the sound of northern thunder
Through the trees and the weeds that rhyme
Watching me as I roam, I roam
Taunting me with these whispered songs

Guard these words I bear
Guide my way for the majesty

A mission for the realm I have news of gravity
Communication lines are alive today
Moving information between the boundaries

Far from sanctuary
Daydreaming of peace

Blackened stars
Veiled sky
Rival footsteps
Make no sound

I'm passing through the heart
Of Assassin's Hollow

No way around
