She's A Tree

When I went outside this morning
And now I couldn’t believe my eyes
There was a beautiful tree in my back yard
She was reaching for the skies

And before I could get any closer
She was all that I could see
And I didn’t even seem to notice
She was looking down at me

She’s a tree
Yeah, she’s a beautiful tree
But I’m cutting her down

So she spread across my back yard
And tried to cover everything in sight
And I was caught up in her beauty
Before I noticed losing light

And so I walked around in bare feet
Until I felt that my grass had died
So I would look at the sun but there was no fun
'Cause I couldn’t see the sky

She’s a tree
Yeah, she’s a beautiful tree
But I’m cutting her down

Satisfaction is no guarantee
If you’re trying taking over me

So I cut her down this morning
And although it made me sad
Then the sun came out and touched my face
And I remembered what I had
