Plain And The Valley

Heavy lays the heart that wanders free
Built to long eternally
For a love that waits on a distant shore
Far beyond, far away

I’ve been one who travels far from home
Traced the steps my fathers roam
Drank the waters blessed by the new wine skin
And I’ve learned songs from the broken hearts of men

And all the beast of the field
Beg for a garden
Somewhere life can settle down
Where peace makes a sound
And a choir of rain covers the plain and the valley

When your legs grow tired of your aimless feet
And all your friends grow out of reach
And every road you walk grows strangely dim
May a light by the window guide you in

All the birds of the air
Toil without care
Tomorrow breaks every plan and bends every man
And every child ever born
Or forced to be torn from the garden
To wander the plain and the valley
