Peace Of Mind

Sleepless nights, darkened skies
they haunt my dreams and taint them with lies.
Creatures of the night, why must this be?
Why can't you just let me be free?
Leave me alone, get out of my head.
Oh, how I fear, leaving my bed.
What will I do, if I go out?
Will I be able to resist their shouts?

I must try, I can't stay afraid.
Don't try to stop me, get out of my way!
I run like the wind trying to flee,
but they keep up and they're laughing at me.
I cannot run from them, I must stop.
I fall to the ground outside a deserted shop.
They tell me to enter or they'll take my life
so I enter and leave, holding a knife.

In my head, they're tormenting me
and they refuse to leave me be.
Peace of mind, is all I ask for,
Please, get out and lock the door!

I walk the streets of this cursed town
searching for someone, to cut down.
They tell me to look on every street
but I've found my victim on the creek.
I sneak up to her, clutching the knife,
soon I shall end her worthless life.
I stab her hard and she goes down,
and I leave the corpse on the cold, damp ground.

Now they're gone, I'm left all alone.
I am all alone, more than ever known.
But then I remember, my awful deed,
and how I left, left her to bleed!
Peace of mind has been given to me,
but yet I feel, that I am not free.
The price was high, I cannot lie
The guilt is unbareable so now I must die!
