A Breathtaking Tragedy

My life comes crashing down around me
In a crimson cascade of warmth and serenity

Gazing down the wrong end of a twilight sky
These stars fill my eyes with new wonder, will it all go away?

My life spills out to feed the earth
Giving my final moments worth
Flesh torn asunder
As I'm falling away

It matters not

The fever breaks as grey matter
