Swing

Wind whistles behind my ear
Is that the sound of kids screaming
Or just the whipping of the wind?

Haven't taken a walk for a while
But figured now would be the best time
To go out with bare feet

Scooch to one side of the sidewalk
Trying to avoid the rain
But it comes down heavier
And the leaves can't hold up the weight

No umbrella
The rain comes down
But we push forward to the park

Splashing through puddles meant for
Walking around
Cleaning wood chips off my feet
