What You Ask For

it happened in a moment
almost as if she chose it
with careful thought and planning
so precise in her intent
she said, "be careful what you ask for
'cause it could be the thing that takes you down
that road you didn't plan for
that road you could not see"

and it was over in an instant
a sleight of hand, a falling star
he turned his head and held there

though it might be what you need"
